Job Purpose
To manage the estimating, planning and administration of print projects from initial customer enquiry through to final delivery. The role is responsible for producing accurate estimates, coordinating production across large format, litho and digital print, liaising with customers and suppliers, and ensuring every job is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Print Manager / Estimator will be responsible for:
Estimating & Quotations
- Preparing accurate and competitive estimates and quotations from customer briefs for large format, litho and digital print projects.
- Pricing completed job tickets accurately and preparing them for invoicing.
Project & Production Management
- Processing customer orders and creating detailed job specifications and production instructions.
- Scheduling and coordinating work through design, print, finishing and installation (where applicable), ensuring deadlines are achieved.
- Monitoring job progress, resolving production issues and communicating any changes to customers and internal departments.
- Working closely with production staff to ensure jobs are completed efficiently, to specification and to the required quality standards.
Design Coordination
- Allocating confirmed design work to the appropriate designer, considering workload, timescales and individual strengths.
- Proof-checking artwork and job specifications prior to production to ensure accuracy.
Customer Service
- Liaising with customers throughout each project, providing updates, answering queries and ensuring expectations are met from enquiry through to completion.
- Responding promptly to website enquiries, telephone calls and customer enquiries.
Purchasing & Supplier Management
- Obtaining competitive pricing from print and finishing suppliers while maintaining strong supplier relationships and identifying new suppliers where appropriate.
- Purchasing print materials and ensuring sufficient stock is available for scheduled work.
Administration & Continuous Improvement
- Maintaining accurate job records and ensuring all administrative processes are completed efficiently.
- Identifying opportunities to improve workflows, customer service and departmental performance.
- Promoting the continued growth and professional image of the department.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience in a Print Manager, Print Estimator or similar commercial print role.
- Good working knowledge of large format, litho and digital print production and finishing processes.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple projects.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to produce accurate estimates.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach.
Desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience using print management/MIS systems.

37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 9:00am – 5:00pm
