Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department by managing various financial tasks, ensuring accuracy in data entry, and assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. This position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills in financial services and accounting software.
Key responsibilities
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar accounts or bookkeeping role
- Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, purchase ledger, and journal entries
- Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable cloud accounting platform (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with financial data
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational and time-management skills
- Maintain and process the purchase ledger, including invoice matching, coding, and supplier payments
- Post and maintain journal entries across the general and nominal ledgers
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Support the sales ledger function including credit control and customer account queries
- Liaise with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve account queries promptly
Qualification
- AAT qualified or part-qualified in CIMA or ACCA
Reporting to
Directly reporting to Accounts Manager and Chief Executive Officer
