Support Worker – Morecambe
47 Hours per Month Contract @ £14.57 per hour for Sunday shifts
Our client is a young lady who lives in her own home with her family. The client goes to school 5 days per week, and between these times and during half term she can be found engaging in a variety of activities with her support team and family. She loves her home comforts, and having ‘me time’, as well as going shopping and on walks in the local area- along the beach promenade.
The client has a cerebral palsy, is a wheelchair user and requires all nutrition, fluid and medication via a PEG feeding tube. She has 1:1 support for hoist transfers and personal care, as well as medication administration and management. The client requires waking night support as well as daytime support before/after school and during the day during school holidays.
The client has a supportive MDT, including Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language and Physiotherapy, who work alongside the support team to provide person centred and effective care.
We are looking to recruit someone who can work flexibly and join the team to support the client to live a life full of fun, adventure and care. The successful candidate will be provided with a comprehensive induction, bespoke training and shadow shifts, so they can get to know the client’s needs and communication style.
Please note we are also looking for a candidate that can offer availability during the half term holidays, to support the client on short break holidays in the UK, activities and community access.

Essential Requirements Include:
Skills in working autonomously when required however knows when to seek advice and assistance from the wider team, excellent communication skills including IT and verbal/non-verbal skills.
Preferable:
Past experience, including providing personal care, PEG feeding and care and qualifications in health and social care.
