Primary 1-1 Teaching Assistant
We have a high volume of new jobs coming available in the area in September. We are looking for Primary TA’s for long term positions. We have full time and part time roles.
Are you a passionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role? We want you to join a fantastic school in Barrow in Furness who are offering a long-term, with a view for temp to perm. This role will be to support a pupil in mainstream who have EHCP's on a 1:1 basis with Special Educational Needs. You will be working with KS1 or KS2 and doing learning interventions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with learning.
- Offer emotional and pastoral support to students to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
- Help students with organisational skills, study techniques, and goal setting.
- Support students with specific learning needs, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs).
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Work closely with teachers and parents to track and review student progress.
- Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student learning and well-being.
What we require:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students
- A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting student development.
- A good understanding of the challenges some students face in learning and the strategies that can support them.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
- A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding.
- Enhanced DBS check on the online update service or willing to get one

Qualifications & Requirements
- A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
- Experience supporting children with SEND
- Passionate working with young children with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
