About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Specialist Support Worker to join our friendly and well-established respite service.
This is a truly rewarding opportunity where you will support individuals to live fulfilling and meaningful lives, promoting independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing during their stay with us. You’ll be part of a service that prides itself on creating a safe, stable, and family-like environment, where both the people we support and our staff feel valued.
Our commitment to high-quality care is officially recognised, with an ‘Excellent’ rating from Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) - something we are incredibly proud of.
As part of your role, you will provide personal care with dignity and respect, supporting individuals with daily living activities such as washing, dressing, and personal hygiene, always following person-centred care plans and individual preferences.
We are now looking for people who share our values and passion to join our supportive, close-knit team and help us continue delivering exceptional care.
About Our Service
We provide a warm and welcoming respite environment where individuals are supported around the clock by a highly experienced team.
What makes us special:
- A homely, supportive setting offering 24-hour care
- A stable and experienced team, with many staff members here since 2006
- A strong focus on person-centred care, tailored to each individual
- Supporting daily living, including personal care, meals, and mobility
- High standards of record-keeping in line with CIW regulations
- Creating a safe, engaging, and positive experience for every stay
Working Pattern
This role operates on a planned base rota, but as we are a respite service, flexibility is key. Our staffing levels and shift patterns naturally change depending on the bookings and needs of the individuals we support.
For this reason, you’ll need to be adaptable and willing to work as part of a responsive team to ensure the highest standard of care is always delivered.
We are committed to supporting our staff with clear communication and forward planning. You will receive at least 4 weeks’ notice of any rota changes, giving you time to plan while allowing the service to meet changing demands.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who genuinely care and want to make a difference.
You’ll ideally have:
- A passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities
- A kind, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong reliability and communication skills
- A willingness to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins
- Previous care experience is helpful, but your attitude and values matter most
Why Join Us?
When you join our team, you’re not just starting a job—you’re joining a service that truly values its staff and the people it supports.
- Be part of a service rated “Excellent” by CIW
- Work within a supportive, experienced, and welcoming team
- Access to full induction and ongoing training and development
- A role where you can make a real difference every day
- Feel valued in a workplace that promotes respect, stability, and teamwork
