Job Summary -We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our food preparation and kitchen operations. This role involves maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, assisting with food prep, and ensuring the smooth running of kitchen activities. The ideal candidate will be energetic, reliable, and eager to contribute to a friendly team environment while supporting our culinary and hospitality services.
This is a full time, permanent position.
Shifts are 7am-3.30pm each day. 40 hours a week
Working 2 out of 3 weekends.
Immediate start
Wage depends on age and experience.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean, hygienic, and well-organised in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as salad prep, plating, simple cooking tasks
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with cooking and plating as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment after use
- Help with the setup and breakdown of kitchen areas before, during and after service times
- Restock fridges etc to ensure smooth service flow
- Follow all safety procedures related to food handling and hygiene protocols
- Skills
- Experience in food preparation or cooking within a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in restaurant environments is advantageous
- A genuine interest in hospitality and supporting culinary teams
