Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Warehouse Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a busy warehouse environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with prior warehouse experience or those eager to gain practical knowledge in logistics and materials handling.
Duties
- Handle materials efficiently, including loading and unloading goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Operate forklift trucks safely and competently, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Utilise the warehouse management system to track inventory levels, update stock records, and manage order fulfilment.
- Prepare items for shipping and receiving, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and documentation.
- Stock shelves accurately, maintaining organisation and accessibility of goods within the warehouse.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure products meet company standards before dispatch or storage.
- Assist with mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting of warehouse equipment when necessary.
- Support inventory counts and stock replenishment activities to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Load and unload lorries efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for specific equipment such as forklifts.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 25kg or more).
- Mechanical aptitude or knowledge of basic maintenance is a plus.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and quality control tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
