Job Overview
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer to join the team based in our Head office near Sandbach to undertake temporary works shoring designs and assisting the Design Manager in the design process, supervision and checking of temporary works shoring.
Responsibilities will include manage their own designs, drafting designs using 2D AutoCAD, site visits, and checking temporary works. We offer extensive training so experience working within a similar design role would be preferred but is not essential, as would structural design, geotechnical design, and temporary works knowledge would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Design Manager.
We’re looking for:
- Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Must be Chartered Engineer with IStrutE or ICE.
- Full UK drivers’ licences with access to a vehicle.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Strong IT skills.
- A professional manner with good communication skills.
- Experience in Ground Shoring would be an advantage.
- Experience in Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage.
- Experience in working with different materials such as steel, concrete and timber is an advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of BS5975:2019, CIRIA C760, BRE470 and other current design standards would be an advantage.
