The Role
We are seeking an organised and commercially aware Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the smooth delivery of our projects by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring procurement is handled efficiently and cost-effectively.
This role would suit someone with strong negotiation skills, good knowledge of construction materials, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing and procuring materials for construction projects
- Sourcing Subcontractor packages
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations
- Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
- Negotiating prices and lead times
- Placing orders and ensuring materials are delivered on time
- Monitoring stock levels and material requirements
- Working closely with site teams and management to meet programme demands
- Managing purchase orders and maintaining accurate procurement records
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a Buyer or procurement role, ideally within construction
- Good knowledge of construction materials and suppliers
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Organised, detail-focused, and commercially aware
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload
- Good IT skills and confidence handling records and purchase orders
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work well as part of a team
