A step up for a strong Tig welder who is ready to run a small team without coming off the tools. Banbury, and you are finished at 2pm on a Friday.
About the role
A well-established Banbury manufacturer is looking for a Tig Welding Team Leader to head up their welding section. This is a hands-on job. You will be welding alongside a small team of welders, setting the priorities for the day, and making sure the work goes out right first time. It starts as a temporary assignment and goes permanent.
What you will do
- Tig welding as a working member of the team, not from an office
- Allocate and prioritise work across a small welding team
- Check quality before work moves on and put right anything that is not up to standard
- Work from drawings and job specifications
- Keep the section tidy, safe and on schedule
What you will bring
- Strong, time-served Tig welding experience, ideally on stainless steel and thin gauge sheet. A welding certification is welcome but not essential if the standard of your work speaks for itself
- The ability to read and work from engineering drawings
- Confidence guiding other welders and keeping a small team on track. Formal team leading experience is welcome but not essential, and this is a genuine step up for the right welder
- Consistent quality and pride in the finish
- Commutable to Banbury for a fully on-site role
What is on offer
- £29,000 to £31,000 per year once permanent, with the equivalent hourly rate of £13.77 to £14.72 while temporary
- Monday to Thursday, 7am to 4.30pm. Friday, 7am to 2pm
- Early finish every Friday and no weekends
- A permanent contract with a stable, established manufacturer
- A first step into leading a team, with the welding you already do
- Weekly pay and full support from your Staffed consultant while temporary
