Do you enjoy working with your hands, figuring out how things work and learning practical skills that you can develop over time?
Know How Resourcing is looking for an enthusiastic Prop shaft Repair Engineer / Technician to join an established workshop in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their engineering career who wants to gain valuable hands-on experience and develop a wide range of technical skills.
With more than 40 years of experience in the prop shaft and components industry, the business offers the right person the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues and develop specialist engineering skills.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll work in a varied, hands-on workshop environment where no two days are necessarily the same.
Your work will include:
- Welding, drilling and machining
- General engineering and machining work
- Repairing and preparing prop shafts and components
- Assembly of finished products
- Learning to use workshop machinery and specialist equipment
- Developing your mechanical and engineering skills through practical experience
Who We're Looking For
You don't need years of specialist prop shaft experience. We're more interested in your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is physically fit and enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Has an interest in mechanics, engineering or machinery
- Is keen to learn and develop new technical skills
- Has some basic mechanical understanding
- Takes pride in doing a job properly
- Can work independently and take responsibility for their work
- Has a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Is comfortable working in a physically demanding workshop environment
Experience with prop shafts or driveshafts would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
Why Join Us?
This isn't just a job — it's an opportunity to learn a specialist trade and build a long-term career.
You'll gain practical experience in welding, machining, mechanical repair and assembly while working alongside experienced people in an established business.
We offer:

- Bonus opportunities in April and December, subject to company performance
- 20 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
- Time off over Christmas, subject to company discretion
- Company pension
- Sick pay
- Free on-site parking
- Long-term opportunity to develop your technical skills
