We need friendly and experienced Barista and FOH waiting staff, in all things Coffee and Tea and English Breakfast, Brunches, Paninis, Toasties for a busy cafe. In the North Lanes Brighton to work on a rota with other employees. Must have customer facing skills and Barista experience and must hit the ground running as this is a new business. Starting in June.
General duties including:
Opening/Closing, start of day and end of day tasks, refilling stock, taking in stock from suppliers, till work and cashing up, table cleaning and rearranging, dish and pot washing, serving alcohol.
Duties/Attributes:
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Cashing and till work
- Washing Dishing, Stocking Up end of day, Cleaning (including toilets end of day)
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash transactions and operate the POS system with precision.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, including cleaning equipment and utensils regularly.
- Always ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Highly advantageous experience of using the latest Rancilio RS1 Speciality Espresso Machine
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic food preparation skills are desirable to support various tasks within the role.
- Good basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong time management abilities to prioritise tasks during busy periods efficiently.
- Friendly attitude with excellent communication skills.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
