We are looking for caring, reliable, and Learning Disabilities Support Workers who can provide motivated Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to join our Supported Living and Domiciliary Care team. This role involves providing high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, promoting independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person-centred support in individuals' homes and within the community.
Implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans and proactive strategies.
Support individuals with daily living skills, including:
Personal care
Medication support
Meal preparation
Housekeeping and laundry
Managing finances and budgeting
Shopping and accessing community facilities
Encourage and promote independence, choice, and self-advocacy.
Support individuals to access education, employment, volunteering, and social opportunities.
Build positive relationships with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders.
Accurately maintain care records, risk assessments, and support documentation.
Identify and report safeguarding concerns in line with organisational policies.
Support individuals during periods of distress using PBS and least restrictive approaches.
Essential Requirements
Genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Understanding of person-centred care and Positive Behaviour Support principles, or willingness to undertake training.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to working shifts, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, waking nights and sleep-ins where required.
Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, dignity, and respect.
Desirable Requirements
Previous experience in Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Health, or Social Care.
Level 2 or Level 3 Health and Social Care qualification.
Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern.
