Care Shop is looking for a proactive and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join our operations team in Trafford Park, Manchester. This is a fast-paced leadership role where you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the warehouse shift, maintaining high operational standards, and leading a team to deliver excellent service to our customers.
We are looking for someone who can motivate a team, drive performance, and take ownership of warehouse operations while maintaining strong health & safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management
- Supervise daily warehouse operations including picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure customer orders are processed accurately and on time.
- Monitor dispatch schedules and prioritise urgent or same-day requests.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organisation standards are maintained.
- Conduct shift handovers effectively to maintain operational continuity.
- Support stock checks and maintain stock accuracy.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and support Warehouse Operatives during shifts.
- Allocate workloads and balance shift priorities.
- Monitor team performance including pick rates, attendance, timekeeping, and error rates.
- Deliver on-the-job training and support employee development.
- Manage performance issues fairly and professionally.
- Promote a positive, accountable, and team-focused culture.
Health & Safety / Compliance
- Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out safely and in line with company policies.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations, PPE requirements, and safe working practices.
- Report hazards, incidents, and operational issues promptly.
- Support audit readiness and maintain high operational standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency and productivity.
- Analyse operational issues and reduce rework or errors.
- Suggest process and layout improvements.
- Support operational KPI achievement across the shift.
What We’re Looking ForEssential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor or Team Leader role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively.
- Comfortable handling performance conversations and coaching staff.
- Good understanding of warehouse health & safety practices.
- Strong Warehouse Management System (WMS) knowledge and experience working with complex warehouse systems.
- Good Microsoft Excel knowledge, including the ability to manage and interpret operational data.
- Computer literate with strong attention to detail.
- Numerate and analytical mindset.
- Ability to quickly learn and confidently operate complex warehouse systems and processes.
Desirable
- Experience working within healthcare, care home supply, logistics, or FMCG sectors.
- Knowledge of warehouse KPIs and operational reporting.
