babyballet® York & Selby is looking for a wonderful, enthusiastic teacher to join our growing team!
We are an award-winning preschool dance school, delivering fun, engaging and high-quality ballet classes to children aged 6 months to 6 years. We're looking for someone who shares our passion for helping little ones learn, grow and flourish through dance.
The successful candidate will support and train alongside an experienced babyballet teacher during the launch phase of our new Easingwold classes before leading classes independently from November 2026.
As babyballet® York & Selby continues to grow, there will also be opportunities to teach additional classes from January 2027 onwards as we launch new venues across the region.
Even if Easingwold isn't the perfect location for you, we'd still love to hear from you! We expect to have a range of teaching opportunities available across York and Selby over the coming months.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Aged 18 or over
- Trained in ballet to at least Intermediate level, with tap experience
- Ideally qualified to teach dance, or has significant performance experience
- Experienced in teaching dance and/or performing professionally
- Confident working with preschool-aged children
- Energetic, enthusiastic and engaging
- Patient, caring and nurturing
- Professional, reliable and organised
- Confident leading classes independently
- Ideally a driver with access to a car
- Based in or around York, Easingwold or Selby
- Available on Saturday mornings
Desirable Qualifications
- Enhanced DBS certificate
- First Aid qualification
- Safeguarding qualification
Don't worry if you don't currently hold these qualifications. We can support the right candidate in obtaining them.
Hours & Pay
Hours: Saturday mornings (approximately 4 teaching hours)
We operate during school term times and half terms, with breaks over Christmas, Easter and the summer holidays.
Pay: £18 per babyballet ® class plus £5 per tap class (approximately £82 for a Saturday morning)
Start Date: September 2026 (paid induction and shadowing period)
