Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Bus Driver to operate passenger vehicles safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers along designated routes, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey. This role requires excellent driving skills, good communication, and a strong commitment to customer service. A valid driver’s licence and relevant experience are essential to perform this position effectively.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate buses on scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Ensure passenger safety by maintaining proper driving practices and following safety protocols.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support as needed.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify any maintenance issues.
- Report any mechanical problems or safety concerns promptly to the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and passenger counts.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, colleagues, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Follow all organisational policies regarding health and safety, including COVID-19 measures if applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery driving roles, with a valid bus or coach licence.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Good communication skills in English, capable of engaging with diverse passengers professionally.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures is desirable.
- Ability to operate various types of commercial vehicles confidently.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during shifts.
- Experience in customer service roles is advantageous, demonstrating a friendly and approachable manner.
Pay: £14.75-£16.00 per hour
