Current Opportunity: Landscape & Land Hand-back Coordinator
Location: Based in Coventry - the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Landscape & Land Restoration Coordinator to support the delivery of landscape, ecological mitigation, land restoration and hand-back activities across the HS2 project. Reporting to the Construction Management team, the role will be responsible for coordinating restoration works from construction completion through to landowner hand-back, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in accordance with HS2 requirements, environmental commitments, contractual obligations and programme milestones.
Key Accountabilities:
Landscape Delivery & Restoration
- Coordinate and oversee all soft landscaping works, including planting, hydroseeding, seeding, turfing, woodland creation, soil preparation and ecological mitigation measures.
- Ensure landscaping and restoration activities are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, Environmental Minimum Requirements (EMRs), Schedule 17 requirements and project commitments.
- Monitor site conditions to ensure successful establishment of planting and vegetation.
- Identify defects, non-conformances and remedial requirements, driving closure prior to hand-back.
- Support the implementation of aftercare and maintenance requirements where applicable.
Land Restoration & Hand-back Coordination
- Coordinate the planning, delivery and close-out of land restoration and hand-back activities across temporary works areas, compounds, access routes, agricultural land and other affected areas.
- Support the development, review and coordination of Restoration Plans, Landowner Hand-back Packs, GIS information and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with Land Access, Consents, Ecology, Environmental Management, Earthworks, Utilities, Drainage and Design teams to ensure restoration requirements are fully understood and delivered.
- Track restoration actions, risks, constraints and outstanding issues to ensure successful completion and hand-back.
- Review survey information, pre-condition records, photographic evidence, environmental monitoring records and post-restoration assessments.
- Support the coordination of landowner inspections, joint site walkovers and stakeholder reviews.
- Assist in obtaining approvals from HS2, landowners, statutory bodies and internal stakeholders where required.
Maintain auditable records to demonstrate compliance with contractual and environmental obligations.

Essential Experience:
- Experience in landscape construction, environmental restoration, land reinstatement or hand-back coordination on major infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing landscaping and restoration subcontractors, including planting and hydroseeding contractors.
- Understanding of restoration and landowner hand-back requirements within large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of environmental and ecological mitigation works.
- Ability to interpret drawings, restoration plans, specifications and technical documentation.
- Strong organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams and disciplines simultaneously.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance and construction documentation processes.
Good understanding of construction health, safety and environmental requirements.
