Every day at Garden House Hospice Care, incredible things happen because of the generosity of our community. Behind every donation, event and fundraising campaign is a story that deserves to be told.
We're looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Marketing & Communications Assistant to join our friendly team for six months. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience across every aspect of marketing and communications while making a real difference to patients and families across North Hertfordshire and Stevenage.
No two days will be the same. One day you could be filming at a fundraising event, the next interviewing a supporter for a case study, creating social media content, designing campaign materials or helping secure local media coverage.
If you're someone who enjoys being creative, loves writing, has a good eye for photography or video, and wants to build a varied portfolio of marketing experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Working alongside our Marketing Team, you'll support the delivery of a wide range of communications activities including:
-
Creating engaging content for social media, our website and digital campaigns.
-
Capturing photographs and video content at events and around the hospice.
-
Editing short videos and creating digital content.
-
Writing stories about our patients, supporters, volunteers and staff.
-
Supporting PR opportunities and media coverage.
-
Helping promote fundraising events and campaigns.
-
Assisting with email communications, printed materials and website updates.
-
Providing day-to-day support to help keep our busy marketing team running smoothly.
-
Is creative, enthusiastic and full of ideas.
-
Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-
Enjoys creating engaging content for digital platforms.
-
Has an eye for detail and strong organisational skills.
-
Is confident using social media.
-
Can manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
-
Enjoys meeting people and telling their stories.
-
Is willing to learn, take initiative and work as part of a supportive team.
Experience of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, video editing or website content management would be an advantage.
This is a part-time role for 30 hours per week
There will be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends to support events and community activities.
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes are essential.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable experience across the full marketing mix in a busy, supportive environment where you'll see the direct impact of your work every day.
You'll work on meaningful campaigns, attend community events, develop new skills and help raise awareness of the care we provide to local people living with advancing illness.
If you're looking for a role where you can develop, be creative and make a genuine difference, we'd love to hear from you.
