We are looking for a reliable and professional Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods while providing excellent customer service and ensuring full compliance with all road transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a Class 2 (Category C) vehicle.
* Carry out daily vehicle walkaround checks and report any defects.
* Deliver and collect goods in line with scheduled routes and delivery times.
* Load and unload vehicles where required, ensuring loads are secure.
* Use a tail lift and pallet truck safely where required.
* Complete all delivery paperwork / PODs accurately.
* Comply with Driver Hours, Working Time Directive, and tachograph regulations.
* Follow all company health and safety procedures.
* Provide excellent customer service at delivery and collection points.
* Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and roadworthy.
* Report delays, incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues promptly to the transport office.
Requirements
* Full UK Category C (Class 2) driving licence.
* Valid Driver CPC qualification.
* Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
* Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time regulations.
* A positive attitude with strong communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Previous multi-drop or HGV driving experience is essential.
* Flexibility to complete overnight stays (nights out) when required.
