We are a friendly, supportive GP practice looking for part-time Receptionist to join our team working 22.5 hours.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a busy environment, and wants to make a real difference in patient care.
Full training will be provided, so while healthcare experience is helpful, it is not essential.
Working Pattern
Receptionist 1:
- Monday: OFF
- Tuesday: 13:00 - 19:00
- Wednesday: 08:00 - 14:00
- Thursday: 07:45 - 13:00
- Friday: 07:45 - 13:00
Flexibility to cover colleagues’ holidays and absence between 07:45 – 19:00 is essential.
About the Role
You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them access the right care in a calm, professional and friendly way.
Every day is different – you will be supporting patients by phone, email and face-to-face, as well as carrying out important behind-the-scenes administration that keeps the practice running smoothly.
You will also support digital systems, including online triage requests reviewed by clinicians, ensuring patient queries are processed efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities include:
- Welcoming patients and handling enquiries
- Managing appointments (booking, changing, cancelling)
- Processing prescriptions and test requests
- Supporting clinician-reviewed online triage requests
- Updating patient records accurately
- Supporting with registrations and deductions
- Directing patients to the right service or clinician
- Supporting workflow tasks and daily admin
- Keeping the reception and waiting area calm and welcoming
- Handling post and general office duties
- Supporting online patient systems and digital access
