About Us
Pennine Youth Support is an Ofsted-registered provider of semi-independent supported accommodation for young people aged 16–18+. Our service is built around safeguarding, independence building, and compliance with the Supported Accommodation Regulations.
Essential Applicant Requirements
Applications will only be considered from candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience working with young people in a supported accommodation, semi-independent living, children’s residential care, leaving care, youth support, supported lodgings, homelessness support, or a similar support environment.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the DBS Update Service, or be willing to register with the Update Service upon appointment.
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children & Young People), Residential Childcare, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Have up-to-date, sector-relevant training and certificates, including (where applicable): Safeguarding, First Aid, Food Hygiene, Equality & Diversity, GDPR, and Self-Harm & Suicide Awareness.
Role Overview
You will work evening shifts supporting young people to develop practical life skills, maintain their safety and wellbeing, and progress towards independence within a structured semi-independent living environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured key-work sessions and life-skills support.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.
- Support daily living activities including budgeting, cooking, tenancy readiness, education, employment, and independent living skills.
- Maintain professional boundaries and accurate record keeping.
- Work in line with support plans, risk assessments, safeguarding procedures, and organisational policies.
- Contribute positively to a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for young people.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday, 6:00pm–10:00pm.
- Additional bank and cover shifts may be available, including daytime shifts, sleep-in duties, and waking night cover, subject to service requirements.
