Salary: Grade 8, SCP 28-31 (£39,152-£41,771 FTE). Actual Salary: £33,525.82 - £35,768.47 (subject to job evaluation) + pension scheme + wellbeing cash plan + additional Lift Schools benefits

This is an exciting opportunity to become the first Senior Attendance Lead working across Lift Rawlett and Lift Greenwood.
Working across both schools, you will lead attendance strategy, drive improvements in student attendance and engagement, and work alongside leaders, families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. Your work will directly improve outcomes for young people across two school communities.
Your new schools
Lift Rawlett and Lift Greenwood are part of Lift Schools, a national trust of 59 schools, including 10 across the West Midlands. Together, they are building strong, inclusive school communities where high expectations, excellent relationships and student success are at the heart of everything they do.
This cross-school role reflects Lift Schools’ collaborative approach. You’ll work alongside experienced leaders across both schools and the wider regional team, sharing expertise, developing consistent practice and helping to shape attendance improvement across the West Midlands.
The role
As Senior Attendance Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for attendance across both schools, ensuring attendance remains at the forefront of school improvement.
Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, safeguarding leads, and external agencies, you will develop and implement effective attendance strategies, using data to identify trends, target interventions, and improve student outcomes.
You will lead on attendance processes, strengthen relationships with families and external partners, and ensure both schools maintain high expectations while providing appropriate support to overcome barriers to attendance.
This role will include:
- Leading the strategic development of attendance across both schools.
- Analysing attendance data to identify trends and implement targeted interventions.
- Working collaboratively with senior leaders to embed a culture of excellent attendance.
- Building positive relationships with students, families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.
- Supporting safeguarding, inclusion and pastoral teams to improve outcomes for vulnerable students.
- Sharing best practice across both schools and contributing to wider regional attendance improvement initiatives.
- Supporting compliance with statutory attendance guidance and ensuring robust attendance systems are embedded.
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for an experienced and highly motivated leader who is passionate about improving life chances through education.
You’ll have:
- Proven experience in leading attendance improvement within a school or educational setting.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and the barriers affecting school attendance.
- Excellent analytical skills, with confidence in interpreting data to drive improvement.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to work effectively with students, families, colleagues and external agencies.
- The ability to influence, inspire and challenge others while maintaining high expectations and a compassionate approach.
- The resilience, organisation and drive to work successfully across two schools, managing competing priorities while delivering measurable impact.
