We are seeking a motivated Ward Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients throughout their hospital journey. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care, while supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive patient experience.

Shifts will be made up of predominantly day shifts, with night shifts to be worked on limited occassions and scheduled well in advance.
As a Registered Nurse (Ward), you will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care while working in accordance with the NMC Code of Practice and organisational policies.
You will:
- Deliver direct patient care and supervise Healthcare Assistants.
- Assess, monitor and accurately document patient conditions.
- Escalate concerns appropriately and contribute to effective clinical decision-making.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and new starters.
- Promote patient wellbeing through education and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records.
- Assist with audits, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
- Take charge of the ward in the absence of senior colleagues when required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential
- Registered Nurse (Level 1) with current NMC registration.
- Relevant post-registration experience.
- Recent experience within a surgical environment.
- Excellent assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or supervising junior staff.
- Good IT skills and accurate clinical documentation standards.
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) qualification or willingness to undertake training.
Desirable
- Experience within Orthopaedic Nursing.
- ECG, venepuncture and IV medication competencies.
- Audit or research experience.
- Teaching or mentorship qualification.
- Experience working within a multicultural environment.
