Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing touches tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Assess each pet’s coat condition and skin health, providing gentle handling and appropriate grooming techniques
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace adhering to hygiene and safety standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand specific grooming preferences and provide expert advice on animal care
- Handle heavy lifting of grooming equipment, pet supplies, and occasionally larger or heavier dogs with proper technique
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout the grooming process, recognizing signs of stress or discomfort
- Keep detailed records of each groom, noting special instructions or health considerations for future reference
Requirements
- Proven experience as a dog groomer, preferably within a luxury or high-end salon environment
- Knowledge of veterinary practices and animal care to ensure safe handling and grooming procedures
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their pets
- Ability to lift heavy objects such as large dogs or equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to understand client needs and provide professional advice on animal grooming and care
- Flexibility to work weekends or extended hours as needed in a dynamic salon setting
