Overview
Eden House is a small care home of up to 20 residents located in the Totland area of the West Wight. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated Kitchen Assistant/Cook to work 3 days per week.

Duties
Hours available are: Sunday, Monday and Tuesday 7am-4:30pm. There is the expectation to work every other Christmas on a rotating pattern with our Head Chef.
- Prepare home cooked meals by following set menus created by the Head Chef
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and portioning as directed
- Prepare pureed meals in line with IDDSI guidelines
- Help with food safety protocols, including proper storage and handling of ingredients and completing daily audits
- Serve food to residents or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
- Maintain inventory levels by restocking supplies and notifying management of shortages
- Follow health and safety guidelines to uphold a clean, safe working environment
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant settings is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm is key!
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Willingness to learn new culinary skills and adapt to changing priorities
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and care team

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
