Pay - £19.00 per hour weekday, £21.00 per hour weekend
Hours - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6.45am to 9.15am and 3.15pm to 8.00pm. Friday 3.15pm to 8.00pm. Saturday 3.00pm to 8.00pm
We are looking for a fun and creative Children's Engagement & Support Practitioner to join the care team and provide support during weekdays and weekends, in the Lewisham area. We're not simply looking for someone to provide care; we're looking for someone who can make a genuine difference.
· Essential: Previous experience supporting a client with a physical disability, childcare experience, knowledge of EHCP and understanding the 5 areas of engagement

· Desirable: PEG feeding, Epilepsy management, manual handling, personal care
· Start Date: ASAP
· Pets in Home: One very friendly cat
· Nearest Station: Catford, Lewisham plus various bus routes
About the Client / Child:
You will be supporting a very special 13-year-old girl who lives with her mum, and older brother, whom she adores. She thrives on upbeat, funny interactions; slapstick humour has her in hysterics, and singing songs related to everyday activities like brushing her hair or teeth brings her real joy. One of her favourite things is messy play, whether it’s slime, foam, or water, the messier the better! She also enjoys quieter moments, especially watching one of her favourite films.
She is a full-time wheelchair user, non-verbal, PEG fed and has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Whilst she requires physical support throughout the day, her family are passionate about ensuring she continues to enjoy new experiences, develop her communication, engage with others and live life to the fullest.
The successful candidate will play an important role in helping her access activities, build confidence, enjoy social opportunities and experience meaningful interaction both at home and in the community.
Hours:
Ideally, we’d love someone who can commit to these hours but would consider two applicants to provide support for the following hours; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 6.45am to 9.15am and 3.15pm to 8.00pm. Friday 3.15pm to 8.00pm. Saturday 3.00pm-8.00pm

This role could suit someone with experience supporting children or young people through childcare, youth work, disability support, community activities, specialist nannying, healthcare, family support or care services.
Experience supporting children with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, PEG feeding, manual handling or complex physical disabilities would be beneficial, but personality, attitude and the ability to engage and connect are equally important.
