Robert Burns Social Club is looking to recruit an experienced and reliable Bar Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of a busy and successful licensed premises.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mature and responsible individual who enjoys working with people, takes pride in delivering good customer service and is comfortable taking charge when required.
Hours
- Guaranteed minimum of 12 hours per week (averaged over a four-week period)
- Additional hours available to cover holidays, functions and busy periods
- Evening and weekend working required
The Role
The successful applicant will undertake normal bar duties while also providing supervisory and operational support to management.
Duties will include:
- Opening and closing the premises
- Supervising bar staff during shifts
- Briefing staff before functions and events
- Till reconciliation and cash balancing
- Maintaining high standards of customer service
- Assisting with the smooth running of functions and events
- Ensuring Club procedures and licensing requirements are followed
- Acting as deputy to management when required
- Providing management cover during annual leave and other absences
The Person
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in bar work within a licensed premises
- Mature, dependable and trustworthy
- Confident supervising staff and dealing with customers
- Comfortable handling cash and completing end-of-day reconciliations
- Able to work on their own initiative
- Flexible and willing to assist during busy periods
Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage but is not essential. More important is the ability to take responsibility, lead by example and support both staff and management.
