Lead the Account-to-Report team and co-lead the Vifor Consolidation function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across a global portfolio of legal entities. The role is responsible for statutory reporting, external audit coordination, group consolidation activities, financial controls, process standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives. It acts as a key business partner to Group Reporting, Tax, Treasury, Finance Business Partners and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Co-lead global consolidation activities for Vifor entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting under IFRS and Group reporting requirements across HFM/Hyperion and Finance Core.
- Reconcile balance sheet and cash flow consolidation results between HFM and Finance Core, investigating and resolving variances.
- Support the Financial Planning and Analytics team to review financial results.
- Own and oversee month-end, quarter-end, half-year and year-end close activities.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information submitted to Group Reporting and other corporate stakeholders.
- Co-lead consolidated balance sheet planning, ensuring data is consistent across relevant systems.
- Support strategic finance transformation projects, including the migration of Vifor to Behring SAP in 2027 through Project UNIFY, the transition from HFM/Hyperion to Finance Core, and the adoption of the new planning system through Project Spark in 2026.
Statutory Accounts & External Audit
- Lead the Account-to-Report team in the preparation, review and filing of statutory financial statements.
- Oversee and provide guidance on technical accounting assessments and key accounting judgements, including impairment reviews, provisions and complex accounting matters.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and evolving accounting standards, supported by external service providers where applicable.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, coach and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
- Manage performance, objective setting, succession planning and development activities for direct reports, and provide guidance to indirect reports.
- Support team capability building, including digital upskilling, automation and adoption of new technologies.
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure delivery of key reporting, audit and project deadlines.
Cross-functional & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key finance partner to Tax, Treasury, Group Reporting, Shared Services and senior finance leadership.
- Provide clear, practical insight on consolidation, statutory reporting and accounting matters to support effective decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support timely resolution of reporting, audit and compliance matters.
Governance, Controls & Compliance
- Maintain a strong internal control environment across the Vifor Account-to-Report and consolidation processes and support remediation of identified control weaknesses and process risks.
- Drive compliance with CSL accounting policies, IFRS requirements and applicable control frameworks.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification required.
- 7+ years' experience in financial accounting, consolidation, statutory reporting and audit.
- 3+ years of proven experience leading finance teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Experience with consolidation systems preferred (experience working with SAP, HFM/Hyperion desirable)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Demonstrated success in finance transformation, process improvement and implementation of financial controls.
This role requires hybrid working from the Liverpool office 3 days per week
