Williamstrip Park is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Gardener to join the gardens team on our private country estate in the Cotswolds.
This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable, hands-on gardener who takes pride in maintaining gardens to a high standard and enjoys working as part of a small, dedicated estate team.
The Role
The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day care, development and presentation of the gardens and grounds at Williamstrip Park.
Responsibilities will include:
- General garden maintenance and upkeep
- Herbaceous border and bed maintenance
- Pruning, planting and seasonal garden work
- Hedge cutting and topiary
- Lawn care and maintenance
- Plant identification and plant health
- Weed, pest and disease management
- Propagation and general horticultural duties
- Assisting with the ongoing development and improvement of the gardens
- Operating and maintaining garden machinery and equipment
- Working alongside the Head Gardener and wider estate team
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong practical horticultural experience
- Has excellent plant knowledge
- Is confident working independently as well as within a team
- Has high standards and excellent attention to detail
- Is reliable, organised and proactive
- Is comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
- Has experience using garden machinery safely
- Takes genuine pride in the presentation and care of a private garden
Relevant horticultural qualifications would be advantageous, although practical experience and a strong knowledge of horticulture are equally important.
A full UK driving licence would be preferred.
Hours & Salary
40 hours per week, full-time
Salary: On application, dependent upon experience.
