Care Assistant (Days) – Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home, Sheffield
Broomgrove Trust Nursing Home is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant to join our day team. This role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse within a supportive, professional, and charitable environment.
You will benefit from consistent clinical support, including a Clinical Nurse Manager (Monday–Friday) and a team of 2–3 nurses alongside 7–8 care staff on each day shift within our 40-bed unit.
About You
- Minimum 1 year’s experience as a Care/Healthcare Assistant in the UK (sponsorship not available)
- Professional, approachable, and team-oriented
- Quick to learn and able to uphold organisational values
- Enthusiastic about mentoring and supporting colleagues
- Committed to delivering high standards of care and customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of care practices, legislation, and regulatory standards
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver holistic, person-centred care addressing residents’ physical, psychological, and spiritual needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and families involved in resident care
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and report changes to the Registered Nurse
- Maintain a safe clinical environment and escalate any risks appropriately
- Use resources effectively, including equipment and supplies
- Adhere to policies and procedures, including incident reporting and health & safety requirements
- Promote dignity, individuality, and confidentiality at all times
Working Hours
- Full-time: 35 hours/ week (5 days) or 28 hours (4 days), including weekends
- Flexible scheduling available
- Shifts: * 07:30–15:00
- 14:30–22:00
- Double shift: 07:30–22:00 (fewer working days)
2 full-time or 3 part-time positions available. Bank (zero-hours) applications are also welcome.
