The Role
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly, efficiently and to the highest standards at all times. You will play a key role in maintaining food quality, motivating the team and delivering a first-class dining experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in the daily running of the kitchen
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality dishes to specification
- Maintain outstanding presentation and consistency across all meals
- Assist in designing seasonal menus, specials and new dishes
- Lead and motivate kitchen staff during service
- Ensure all food hygiene, health and safety regulations are followed
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation
- Reduce waste and maintain strong cost control practices
- Train and develop junior kitchen team members
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional kitchen environment
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods
- Uphold company standards and procedures at all times
- Work collaboratively with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent customer service
- Assist with kitchen scheduling and operational planning when required
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Passion for fresh food and quality ingredients
- Strong organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Positive attitude with excellent teamwork skills
- High standards of cleanliness and professionalism
- Food Hygiene certification preferred
- Creativity, enthusiasm and attention to detail
