Experienced Carers required as soon as possible to support children with physical disabilities in Stoke-on-Trent.
The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care to children/young adults in their own home and the community. Experience of managing PEG feeds and supporting children/young people with epilepsy is highly desirable although training will be provided.
As part of your role you will be expected to:
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
- Assist with medication administration as per care plans and guidelines.
- Engage our client in meaningful activities to enhance their quality of life.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment.
- Maintain accurate records detailing progress and reporting any changes in health.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to individual risk assessments and care plans.
Our client has an adapted vehicle and the ideal candidate will therefore be able to drive.
Qualifications
- Previous experience is highly desirable.
- Relevant qualifications in Social Care are preferred but not mandatory, dependent on experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with our client who is non-verbal and has global developmental delay and her family.
- A valid driving licence is essential.
- Ability to carry out physical care tasks including safe moving and handling in accordance with the client’s individual risk assessments and safe handling plan.
