Company Description
We are an FCA regulated niche business providing an end to end service for property owners to make a claim to their insurance company for water damage, leaks and fire damage. We will present the claim, survey and assess the costs of damage and negotiate a settlement after which we will carry out restoration and reinstatement works with our panel contractors. We are a small highly skilled team known and established for 14 years in the industry providing excellent customer service and concrete results for our clients. The business operates within the M25.
Job Description and Role
The role is office-based with visits to clients’ homes as needed for damage assessment and site meetings with loss adjusters appointed by the insurer. Regular visits to site also needed to inspect works in progress :
- You will be required to meet with property owners to conduct a thorough fact find then survey and assess the property damage and prepare a scope of works on our scoping tool to be submitted to the insurer as part of the insurance claim.
- After the insurer has appointed a loss adjuster you will be required to meet with him/her to explain the circumstances leading to the property damage, justify the works required and negotiate to get all the works agreed, dealing with any questions or objections which arise from the loss adjuster.
- In the office, you will be expected to assist the claims manager throughout the case with objections on scope and costs
- You will be required to source materials for reinstatement, assess the sequence and duration of the works and determine the need for alternative accommodation.
- Once the works are ready to start you will be expected to select a contractor from our network, start the job off, monitor progress and manage to satisfactory completion liasing between the client and the contractor as required.
- You will be expected to deal with client properties in the Greater London area in the M40 corridor toward Birmingham
- You must have your own car; we pay the HMRC published rate for all business miles
Experience, Skills and Knowledge Required
- Knowledge of building repair costs such as plastering, tiling, flooring, decorating, carpentry etc. and of how building repairs have to be organised and sequenced.
- Hands on experience of water damage, flood and fire insurance claims and the claims process
- Proven experience of surveying property damage from water, fire or impact and managing subcontractors on repair jobs
- Persuasive communicator, well-spoken and skilful in making arguments to justify to loss adjusters the necessity of works being proposed in a client’s insurance claim.
- Methodical clear head, analytical ability, attention to detail and ability to skilfully deal with client requirements , questions or objections during the claims process both by phone and in person.
- Excellent written communication skills with proficiency in Excel.
Training Provided
The company will provide on-the-job training in the following areas :
- The entire insurance claims process and how we deal with it from cradle to grave
- Preparation of works and cost schedules on our bespoke system
- Training on the the firm’s service contract and explaining to potential clients what we can and cannot do.
- Training on damage survey and assessment on site and what we have to achieve in the first meeting with clients
- Training on how to achieve the right result from loss adjuster meetings

- The successful candidate will have worked for an insurance repairs contractor or assessor dealing with fire, flood, and water damage claims or as a junior project manager or surveyor in an insurance claims management company.

Pay: £55,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
