Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a professional restaurant or hotel setting. Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or serving is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Support the kitchen team with organisation and stock rotation of ingredients and supplies
- Ensure the cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas throughout the shift
- Dispose of waste responsibly and maintain recycling procedures
- Support the overall cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment to meet health and safety regulations
- Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service periods as required
Requirements
- Prior experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary environment is advantageous
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
- A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen environment
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
