About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance & Landscaping Operative to join our busy and growing team.
We have opportunities for both part-time and full-time work, depending on availability and suitability. The role could also be ideal for someone who is semi-retired, looking for a few days’ work per week, or looking for an opportunity that could develop into full-time employment.
You will be working on a variety of domestic and commercial grounds maintenance and landscaping projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
The role will include a variety of outdoor maintenance and landscaping duties, including:
- Grass cutting
- Strimming
- Hedge trimming
- Leaf clearance
- Litter collection
- General grounds maintenance
- Hard landscaping
- Soft landscaping
- Fence installation and repairs
- Domestic landscaping
- Commercial landscaping
- General outdoor maintenance duties
A CSCS card is not required for this position.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual outdoor work
- Hardworking and reliable
- Punctual and dependable
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to work effectively as part of a small team
- Able to work independently and use their own initiative
- Keen to learn and develop new skills
- Willing to complete all required health & safety and client-specific training
Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or similar outdoor work would be an advantage, but full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
The following would be an advantage and may result in preference being given to applicants:
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience towing a trailer
- Trailer licence / relevant towing experience
- PA1 / PA6 spraying qualification
- Previous experience working on busy commercial grounds maintenance sites
- Previous landscaping experience
- Experience using professional grounds maintenance machinery and equipment
These are not essential requirements. Applicants without these qualifications or experience will still be considered, as training can be provided to the right person.
Training
All successful applicants will be required to complete a number of health & safety and client-specific online training courses before being authorised to work.
The cost of this training is fully covered by the company.
You will be provided with a username and login to complete the required courses from home using your own computer. All mandatory training must be completed in full before you can commence work.
Uniform, PPE & Equipment
The company will provide:
- Full company uniform
- Required PPE
- Relevant work equipment
- Training where required
You must provide your own steel toe-capped, lace-up work boots.
All company clothing and PPE provided must be worn as required.
Own Transport
Own transport is required.
You will need to be able to travel to and from our yard on the days you are required to work. From the yard, you will then travel to various work locations.
