About the Role
A specialist education provider in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Outreach Tutor to support children and young people who are unable to access mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver personalised, 1:1 tuition to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
You will work with pupils in community settings, schools, or within their homes, delivering tailored sessions that meet individual EHCP targets and educational needs. The role involves supporting learners with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, anxiety, speech and language difficulties, and other additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 personalised tuition tailored to individual learning needs
- Plan and adapt lessons to support pupils working below or outside of age-related expectations
- Support pupils to achieve their academic, social, and emotional goals
- Build positive, trusting relationships that encourage engagement and confidence
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback and reports
- Work collaboratively with schools, parents, carers, and external professionals
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet EHCP outcomes and individual learning styles
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing throughout each session
- Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding procedures at all times
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Experience delivering 1:1 tuition, intervention, or teaching
- Strong understanding of differentiated learning and behaviour management
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Patient, resilient, and adaptable approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to Work in the UK
Desirable:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), HLTA, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, or speech and language needs
- Experience working within outreach, alternative provision, or specialist SEN settings
- Access to your own vehicle and full UK driving licence

Pay: £150.26-£180.89 per day
