Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cleaner to join our team, responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness across various commercial premises. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to creating a hygienic and welcoming environment for members and staff alike. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting, contributing to the overall presentation and safety of our facilities.
There will be a minimum of 15 hours per week, with overtime available dependant on the business needs.
Rate of pay will meet National Minimum Wage; any overtime will be paid at the same rate.
Normal working hours will be any 5 out of 7 days, Monday – Sunday, dependant on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
All responsibilities subject to change based upon business needs.
General Cleaning
o Floors: Sweep, mop, and vacuum all floors, carpets, and rugs.
o Surfaces: Dust and polish furniture, shelves, fixtures, and skirting boards.
o Rubbish: Empty bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste and recycling into designated disposal areas.
o Glass: Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors to a streak-free finish.
Sanitation and Hygiene
o Restrooms: Clean, sanitize, and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and showers.
o Changing Facilities: Clean, sanitize, disinfect showers, sweep and vacuum all floors and carpets.
o Kitchens: Wipe down and disinfect countertops, tables, appliances (microwaves, fridges), and sinks.
o Supplies: Replenish consumables including soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, and bin liners.
Deep Cleaning and Maintenance
o Periodic Tasks: Carry out periodic deep cleans (e.g., carpet shampooing, cleaning ceiling vents, descaling fixtures).
o Reporting: Identify and report maintenance issues, hazards, or necessary repairs to management.
o Supply Management: Monitor cleaning supply inventory and notify the Club Manager when replenishments are needed.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
o Regulations: Adhere to all safety procedures, hazard reporting, and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) guidelines.
o Chemicals: Safely handle and dilute cleaning chemicals using the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
o Equipment: Ensure cleaning equipment and machinery are safely operated, cleaned, and stored after use.
Requirements
- Previous experience in cleaning is essential
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and efficiently within allocated timeframes
- Good organisational skills and reliability
- Physical fitness to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and standing for extended periods

Pay: £12.71 per hour
