Millfield Care Home is seeking an experienced and ambitious Registered Home Manager to lead our nursing home and continue delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.

As the Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the home's regulatory compliance, quality of care, operational performance, staffing, occupancy, and financial management. You will lead by example, creating a culture where residents, families, and colleagues feel valued, respected, and supported.
You will be supported by experienced regional teams, alongside dedicated HR, Finance and operational support functions, enabling you to focus on delivering outstanding care and service excellence.
Duties
- Lead and manage all aspects of the care home, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care aligned with regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain full compliance with CQC regulations and fundamental standards.
- Develop, implement, and regularly review personalised care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
- Recruit, retain and develop talented teams as well as promote staff engagement, wellbeing and continuous professional development.
- Supervise and support a team of care staff, nurses, and ancillary personnel, fostering a culture of teamwork, professional development, and excellence in care delivery.
- Oversee medication administration processes to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Monitor clinical standards and quality assurance procedures to uphold regulatory compliance and lead quality improvement initiatives to drive continuous service enhancement.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing schedules efficiently to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Promote an environment that prioritises resident dignity, independence, and well-being while maintaining high standards of health and safety.
- Effectively manage safeguarding incidents, complaints, investigations and action plans.
- Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals and external agencies.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, local authorities, commissioners, hospitals and healthcare professionals.
Essential
- Registered Nurse with an active NMC PIN
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Home Manager or Deputy Manager within a nursing or residential care setting.
- Proven leadership experience managing large care teams.
- Strong working knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrable experience managing budgets, staffing and occupancy.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Passion for delivering outstanding person-centred care.
Desirable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience achieving Good or Outstanding CQC inspection outcomes.
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home environments with a strong background in senior care.
- Previous management or supervisory experience within a care home setting is essential.
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification or equivalent registration with relevant health authorities.
- Extensive knowledge of care practices, medication administration protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with creating and managing care plans tailored for residents with complex needs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to oversee daily operations efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with residents’ families, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies.
