Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative E-commerce Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our online retail platform, ensuring an optimal user experience across various devices and browsers. Duties
- Develop and implement responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as React, Angular, Bootstrap, and Vue.js to enhance user experience.
- Build robust back-end systems employing technologies like Node.js, Django, ASP.NET, PHP, Ruby on Rails, or Java Spring Framework to support e-commerce functionalities.
- Integrate third-party APIs and develop custom RESTful or GraphQL web services to facilitate seamless data exchange between platforms.
- Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, and SQLite; optimise queries for performance optimisation.
- Utilise version control tools such as Git and GitHub; implement continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Design wireframes and prototypes for new features using wireframing tools; collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive user interfaces.
- Implement SEO best practices and optimise website performance through techniques like AJAX, SCSS/SASS styling, responsive web design, and web performance optimisation strategies.
- Maintain server environments deploying applications on Tomcat, IIS, or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure; configure deployment pipelines with Ansible or similar tools.
- Conduct unit testing and code reviews to ensure code quality; utilise tools like Visual Studio or Eclipse for development tasks.
- Monitor website analytics and data visualisation tools such as D3.js or Tableau; recommend improvements based on user behaviour insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using project management tools like Jira or Trello; participate in Agile SDLC processes.
Experience
- Proven professional experience in front-end development with HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript (TypeScript), and modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
- Strong back-end development expertise with Node.js, Django (Python), ASP.NET (.NET C#), PHP or Ruby on Rails.
- Hands-on experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
- Familiarity with cloud services including AWS or Azure for application deployment and scaling.
- Proficiency in version control systems such as Git/GitHub; experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of web services architecture including RESTful APIs and SOAP; experience integrating third-party APIs is desirable.
- Understanding of system architecture principles related to scalable e-commerce platforms; experience with microservices architecture is advantageous.
- Ability to develop responsive websites that meet accessibility standards; knowledge of UX principles is preferred.
- Experience in SEO optimisation techniques and web analytics tools for data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment; excellent organisational skills are essential.
