Bank Staff position
Terms of Employment
- Employment is on a casual (bank) basis — hours are not guaranteed and will be offered according to service needs.
- Payment includes an enhancement to cover statutory annual leave entitlement.
- Bank staff are expected to maintain regular contact with the organisation and keep their availability up to date.
We operate 24 hours a day 7 days a week so there is always an opportunity to pick up extra hours if you are available.
Weekly pay each Friday / Probation period of 3 months / Shifts fixed following successful probation. National Minimum wage for all support workers.
Private 4 bed home based in Rotherham Town Centre for learning disabilities and behaviour that challenges. Residential setting to promote independence in individuals using the service. Supporting them to conduct their daily tasks in the home and out in the community.
On shift work entails cleaning, cooking, and following care plans. Out in the community work occurs at set weekly activities such as drama, exericse and music sessions.
A whatsapp group will notify Bank staff of shifts that require cover each week, providing the opurtunity for the bank staff member to accept or decline the shifts.
Training is fully provided, and you are paid for the hours you spend completing your training at both home and the workplace within your 3-month probation period.
Skills and experience you may need:
- Health and Social Care Training / Willingness to complete mandatory training
- A willingness to get involved in activities and encourage those you care for to broaden their experiences and gain independence
- No experience of care required (however it is an advantage), if no experience, the Care Certificate is to be carried out and completed during first 6 weeks of employment
- Accessibility to the home by living local or access to driving
- Caring nature, and openness to all individuals disregarding disability / background.
- Cleaning and cooking are a major part of infection control tasks and duties you may have. Training is given in this area, however we would expect some prior experience.
- Professional attitude and reliability is of key importance
- Ability to show person centred values and promote independence for individuals that use our service
Now conducting face to face interviews at the care home / telephone interviews if preferred
