We are seeking a professional, friendly, and highly organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors. This is a key role within the school, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the reception area while maintaining a calm and positive atmosphere.
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
Hours: Monday and Tuesdays, 8 am to 6 pm term time only. 20 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and external stakeholders, always providing a professional and welcoming service
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries efficiently
- Maintain a tidy, organised, and secure reception area
- Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Support the school office with admissions enquiries and routine communications, maintaining accurate records and update school database as required, including pupil attendance registers
- Ensure all visitors sign in and adhere to safeguarding procedures, e.g. issuing visitors badges.
- Support the school’s safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
- Coordinate deliveries, post, and courier services
- Provide first aid support if trained (training can be provided)
- Assist staff and pupils with day-to-day enquiries
- Support school events and activities where appropriate
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a receptionist, or administrative role is preferred but not essential
- Experience working in a school or educational setting, is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident, professional, and approachable manner
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Friendly, welcoming, and approachable
- Reliable and punctual
- Discreet, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Proactive and able to work independently
- A genuine interest in working within a school environment
