A friendly and supportive primary school in Skipton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a maternity cover contract. This role will involve supporting pupils within a Year 1 classroom, with a particular focus on leading small group interventions and delivering high-quality phonics support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead small group interventions in phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
- Deliver phonics sessions in line with the school's chosen phonics programme.
- Work with pupils who require additional support to close learning gaps.
- Support children's transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1.
Pre-Requisites
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working within Key Stage 1.
- Experience delivering phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc., or Essential Letters and Sounds.
- Experience supporting children with SEND.
