Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Driver to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating articulated flatbed and low-loader vehicles to deliver goods efficiently across various locations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate articulated flatbed and low loader vehicles for the transportation of goods to designated destinations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Safely operate 8 wheeled crane lorry using hiab to on and off load containers. ( Training and tickets can be provided)
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery schedules and ensure punctual arrivals
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Load and unload cargo with care, ensuring proper securing of goods during transit
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays
- Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times to promote a secure working environment
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial driver.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards applicable to heavy goods vehicles
- Excellent driving skills.
- Ability to handle physical tasks involved in loading and unloading cargo efficiently
- Good route planning and time management abilities
- Familiarity with delivery driver experience, including customer service interactions when required
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections and troubleshooting
