Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety are maintained.
- Keep the kitchen area clean and organised, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils promptly.
- Support chefs and cooks by preparing ingredients and maintaining stock levels of supplies.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained properly to ensure optimal performance.
- Help with the disposal of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in receiving deliveries and storing food items appropriately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- A good understanding of food hygiene practices and health & safety regulations is preferred.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends as required by the business needs.
- A passion for food and the culinary arts is desirable, along with an eagerness to assist chefs in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
