Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 HGV C Category Hiab Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a flatbed lorry equipped with a Hiab crane, Working Day Shifts delivering goods safely and efficiently across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving, delivery, and specialised lifting operations. The ideal applicant will possess strong driving skills, a keen eye for safety, and the ability to manage deliveries with precision and professionalism. This role will include occasional nights out and it is a Full Time Permanent role.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV C Category lorry fitted with a Hiab crane for loading and unloading goods.
- Conduct pre-journey safety inspections of the vehicle and equipment to ensure compliance with road safety regulations.
- Plan delivery routes effectively, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to clients or sites.
- Assist with loading and securing cargo on the flatbed using the Hiab crane, ensuring all items are properly secured for transit.
- Deliver goods to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including delivery notes and logbooks.
- Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any faults or damages promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles equipped with Hiab cranes or similar lifting equipment.
- Prior experience as a delivery driver is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with route planning and customer service.
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures for flatbed trucks and crane handling is essential.
- Familiarity with driving regulations related to Class 2 HGV vehicles within the UK.
- Experience in handling cargo securely during transit to prevent damage or accidents is preferred.
This role requires a dedicated professional capable of managing demanding schedules while prioritising safety and customer satisfaction. Candidates should possess relevant licences, including a valid Cat C (Class 2) licence, along with experience in flatbed driving and crane operation where applicable you must hold a valid Hiab Ticket along with a valid cpc Card and Digital tacho card.
Pay: £15.50-£17.25 per hour
