General Manager — Dareshack, Bristol

Dareshack is a speciality coffee shop and bar on Wine Street, Bristol, sharing a site with The Gaffe Comedy Club and Bristol Pastry Kitchen. We're not a chain, and we're not looking for someone to just keep the lights on, we want a General Manager who'll take real ownership of the café's trade, team, and direction, and build something genuinely good.
You might currently be working as a:
- Cafe Manager
- Head Barista
- Cafe Supervisor
- Assistant Manager
What you'll be doing:
- Running Dareshack's day-to-day trade, quality, and standards
- Owning the coffee programme, sourcing, training, and keeping a genuine speciality standard
- Leading and developing your team, rotas, recruitment, coaching, day-to-day people management
- Managing suppliers, budgets, and financial reporting directly
- Working toward and maintaining a 5-star food hygiene rating alongside our compliance systems
- Spotting and acting on opportunities to grow trade, including events tied into The Gaffe's live comedy programme
What we're after:
- Genuine speciality coffee knowledge, non-negotiable
- Previous experience managing a café, bar, or similar hospitality operation
- A hands-on leader who wants to build something, not just maintain it
- Confident working as part of a wider, multi-business venue team

Salary: £32,000–£38,000, depending on experience.
Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
