Overview:
Vizor Performance & Recovery is expanding, and we are now inviting the right person to become our first self-employed associate therapist as we move into the next stage of our growth journey.
This is not a standard clinic role. This is an opportunity to join a developing sports massage and recovery brand at an early stage, helping shape the future of a business that is expanding into a multi-location, multi-therapist clinic.
We are looking for someone exceptional. Clinically confident, self-driven, and genuinely excited by the idea of helping build something rather than simply joining something already established.
Location
- Primary base: The Gym Group, Bury St Edmunds (gym-based clinic room)
- Secondary location (future): Thetford clinic space (required travel)
- Driving licence essential
Working Pattern:
This role will initially be part-time with a structured core diary, with clear opportunity to increase hours based on availability, demand, and clinic growth. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be the main full clinic days initially. Saturdays will also form part of the core diary, with the opportunity to extend hours as demand builds. Alternative weekday arrangements may be considered for the right candidate, provided the required clinic availability is met.
As our second clinic location launches, you will take an active role in developing this site, with at least two working days per week based there as demand grows.
This will naturally evolve into a full-time opportunity for the right person as both locations develop and client demand increases.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to become the first associate therapist within a growing sports massage and recovery clinic at an early stage of development. You will play a key role in shaping the future of Vizor Performance & Recovery.
You will begin working within our established clinic in Bury St Edmunds, delivering high-quality sports massage and soft tissue therapy to a diverse and active client base including runners, gym users, and general population clients. As the second clinic location launches, you will also take responsibility for delivering treatments there, becoming an integral part of the multi-site expansion.
This role is designed for someone who wants to build a strong, consistent client base within a growing brand, while being actively supported in doing so. You will be working within a clinic environment where there will be structure, demand, and ongoing support to help you develop your client base, clinical confidence, and long-term career within the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality sports massage and soft tissue therapy sessions (core service)
- Conduct thorough consultations and treatment planning
- Prescribe rehabilitation exercises where relevant to support injury recovery
- Work with a range of clients and maintain accurate client records and communication
- Maintain professional, consistent client care standards across both clinic locations
- Travel to and operate from both clinic sites
- Support the development of clinic systems, processes, and brand reputation
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident, proactive and self-driven therapist who is fully qualified and comfortable working independently with clients. The ideal candidate will be looking for a long-term opportunity to establish themselves within a growing clinic environment, develop their client base, and progress their career alongside the business. You should be highly professional, with strong communication skills and passionate about sports massage, sports therapy and client outcomes.
Essential:
- Level 3 Sports Massage qualification (minimum)
- Driving licence and willingness to travel between clinic locations
- Experience working 1-1 with clients in a clinic or performance environment
- Strong hands-on treatment skills and client confidence
- Valid first aid certification, or commitment to completing an appropriate first aid qualification
- Successful completion of an appropriate DBS check
Desirable:
- Level 4/5 Sports Massage Therapy qualification
- Sports Therapy or Physiotherapy background (BSc / MSc)
- Additional skills such as rehabilitation exercise prescription, cupping, or taping etc.
- Interest in developing additional services over time
What We Offer:
- Competitive self-employed associate model (starting at a 40% therapist / 60% clinic split per appointment), with structured progression based on performance, consistency, and contribution to the clinic over time
- Fully supported clinic environment including all treatment equipment, materials, booking system and professional space provided
- Established clinic base with growing client demand
- Opportunity to be part of a multi-site, multi-therapist clinic from an early stage
- Represent our brand professionally and contribute to the continued development of the clinic
- Career support with CPD opportunities and long-term progression as the business expands
Recruitment Process
To ensure the right fit for both the candidate and Vizor Performance & Recovery, the recruitment process will consist of an initial interview, with shortlisted candidates being invited to a practical assessment stage. This process allows us to understand your experience, clinical approach, communication style, and suitability for the role.
