PMD is looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Working Carpenter to join our team, working on a variety of high-end residential projects across Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton, Ingatestone and surrounding areas.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced carpenter who is confident working on site, taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of projects, coordinating with other trades and maintaining good communication with the office.

The Role
The role will involve a combination of working carpentry and site foreman responsibilities, including:
- 1st and 2nd fix carpentry
- Pitched and flat roofing
- Floor joists and structural carpentry
- Installation of steel beams
- General carpentry and construction work
- Reading and working from architectural and engineering drawings
- Liaising and coordinating with other trades on site
- Helping to organise and manage the day-to-day running of sites
- Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Keeping the office updated on progress and any issues on site
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised working environment
- Ensuring the quality and finish of work meets PMD's high standards
Requirements
The successful candidate must have:
- Proven experience as a Site Foreman / Working Carpenter
- Strong knowledge and experience across all aspects of carpentry
- Experience with roofing, floor joists and structural work
- Experience installing steel beams
- Ability to confidently read and understand architectural and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to liaise effectively with other trades
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the running of a site
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A strong eye for detail and quality
- Own carpentry tools
- Self-employed status
- CIS registered
- Full UK driving licence
Company Van Provided
A company van will be supplied for the role.
- Van insurance paid by PMD, subject to points/endorsements on the driver's licence
- Van maintained by PMD
- Company van provided for work purposes
Working Hours
Full-time – Monday to Friday
7:30am – 4:30pm
Overtime may be available depending on the requirements of the project.
Rate of Pay
Negotiable depending on experience and suitability for the role.

Work will be carried out across various sites in:
Brentwood, Shenfield, Hutton, Ingatestone and surrounding local areas.
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, hardworking, experienced and easy-going, and who takes genuine pride in their work.
You must have a high level of attention to detail and understand that quality is essential. Our projects are predominantly high-end homes, so the standard of workmanship and finish is extremely important.
You need to be comfortable working as part of a team, communicating with other trades and keeping the office informed on a daily basis.
