Full time Butcher
Tuesday - Friday (08.00hrs to 17.30hrs) / Saturday (08.00hrs to 15.00hrs)
Portway Farm Shop is well renowned for our home reared beef, quality local meat, artisan goods, and fresh local produce. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to bolster our butchery team in a successful growing business.
What We Require
· Fully competent in all aspects of carcass butchery in all species
· Competent in Sausage and bacon production
· Hardworking, self-motivated, punctual, honest, and reliable
· Be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Packing, Cutting, and labelling for private butchery, wholesale, and retail customers
· Keen to develop and innovate products whilst taking pride in delivering the finest quality products to our customers.
· Helping replenish stock, manage stock rotation, and inventory products, to helping to minimise food waste.
· Creating eye-catching displays that showcase our fantastic range of meat and produce.
· Maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Complying with all relevant regulations.
· Good communication skills
· Help growth the business with a “can do” attitude and a passion for food.
· Assisting customers with their purchases and providing product knowledge
· Full driving license to assist with deliveries when required
What We're Looking For
Ideally you will have:
· 3 years of Butchery experience. Preferably within a butchers or farm shop/deli environment.
· A passion for food quality and an understanding of local and seasonal produce.
· Help innovate and produce new product lines for sale.
· Willing to get stuck in and work as part of a team.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
