Job description
We are looking for experienced General Managers with a passion for traditional pubs.
The ideal candidates will have a passion for draught and cask ales and excellent customer service, ensuring the venue is always warm and welcoming to all customers. We are looking out for managers to foster and implement these values in other managers and staff in the site.
Previous experience in an GM/AGM role is essential, preferably from a high volume, fast paced venue. Please do not apply if you do not have these.
Some of the key features of the role include:
- Cellar & cask maintenance - ensuring all products are fresh, well rotated and managed, as well as regularly updated and maintained.
- Maintain Cask Marque status.
- Produce weekly rotas in line with forecasts & budgets.
- Budget management: labour costs, consumable & stock costs.
- Cash-ups/closing procedures, weekly reports.
- Stock and venue orders.
- Recruitment and training organisation.
- Staff management: appraisals, promotions, disciplinaries.
- Contributing ideas to push the standards in your venue with regards to product offering, menus, and events.
- Venue atmospherics: lighting, fires, TVs, candles, and venue cleanliness.
- Management of Trail systems for set-ups and breakdowns.
- Ensure staff are aware of all aspects of their roles: alcohol awareness, challenge 25, safe food handling, COSHH handling, and ensuring your teams are trained in all of these.
